I shared in Event
Horizon--Sign of the Son of man that just as Jesus' first coming was
in two
parts so His second coming will be in two parts, and it is my belief
that there will be an event horizon sign seen at both events!
Here I am another year later and the Spirit of the Lord inspires
me to look at my notes related to my first Event Horizon articles and I realize
I left out a quote by Thomas Ice. In my search to find the source of this
quote, I discovered some astounding information related to the sign of the Son
of man in a PDF article posted by mayfairbible.org:
And then shall appear
the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the
earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven
with power and great glory. - Matthew 24:30 KJV
2. The unmistakable sign - v.30 - "At that time the sign of the
Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn.
They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and
great glory.
Ever since v.4, Jesus has been
answering the disciple’s questions. v.3 - "Tell us," they said,
"when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of
the end of the age?" Instead of naming a date, Jesus described the
conditions and events of the Tribulation that would lead to His coming and the
end of the age. This is how He answered the “WHEN” part of their question. In
other words, when all these things happen, the time is near. But here in v. 30
Jesus answered the “WHAT” part of their question...what will be the sign of your coming and of the
end of the age?” Jesus said His second coming will be signaled by an
unmistakable sign he called the sign of the Son of Man. The Greek language is
helpful here. The subjective genitive translated the sign of the Son of Man
tells us the sign is the Son of Man Himself. The sign that will be visible to everyone on earth will be the way Jesus comes
to earth on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. In other words,
the sign of His coming will be so gloriously spectacular, no one will miss it.
Though His feet will touch down on the Mt. of Olives, the glory of His return
will be universally observed.
Arnold Fruchtenbaum explains... “As
this sign is coupled with God’s glory, it is obviously the Shekinah Glory light
that will signal the Second Coming of the Messiah...There will be a “total
blackout with no light penetrating at all, followed by a sudden glorious,
tremendous light that will disperse the blackness. This Shekinah light will be
the sign of the Second Coming of the Messiah.” This brilliant display of light
will be followed by the return of the Messiah Himself.”
Thomas Ice adds, “The sign will
likely be some form of the Shekinah Glory that has been manifested throughout
history. After all, it was the sign of Christ’s first coming...the Shekinah
Glory...that flashed upon a darkened sky announcing His birth to the shepherds.
It was the Shekinah Glory that led the Wise Men from the East. So it is that His sign, the sign
of the Son of Man, will once again be His trademark, the Shekinah Glory Cloud.”
No human being has ever seen the
full unveiled glory of God in Christ, and no one will ever see it until Christ

My heart leapt and my eyes sprung tears as I read: “the sign is the Son of Man Himself”! If
these commentaries are accurate, they confirm the conclusion I came to that “the
tribes” referred to in Matthew 24:30 mourn because they recognize the sign of
the Son of man for, THEY WITNESSED IT WHEN THE RAPTURE OCCURRED 7 YEARS PREVIOUSLY!

“The sign of the Son of man” will be the overwhelming Shekinah
glory surrounding Christ Jesus Himself when He breaks through the spiritual
dimension to enter our earthly dimension. At the harpazo
or rapture of the Overcoming Church,
His “sign” will most likely be extremely brief since our transformation and
meeting Him in the air occurs in an atomos
of time!
In a moment, in the
twinkling [atomos] of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall
be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:52 KJV
For the Lord himself
shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and
with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are
alive [and] remain shall be caught up [harpazo] together with them in the clouds, to meet
the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - 1 Thessalonians
4:16-17 KJV
This is how I imagine the catching away will happen. . .
First, the world (especially those who are watching for
their Lord) will witness brilliant ribbons of color streaking across the sky.
In a flash, all lights will go dark as the dead in Christ make the explosive transformation
into eternal beings and rise to meet the event horizon point of no return—Jesus—in
the air. In the “twinkling of an eye”
those who are alive in Christ will follow them and “so shall we ever be with the Lord”.

HORIZON
He IS THE
WAY
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6 KJV
He IS THE DOOR
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall
go in and out, and find pasture. - John 10:9 KJV
The world will be left in utter darkness as the lights of
the world disappear through The Door who is The Light of the World (Matthew
5:14; John 8:12).
Therefore, let us be patient, fellow watchers, and let us
work while it is still day so that as many as possible can enter through The
Door with us!
Be patient therefore,
brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the
precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive
the early and latter rain. - James 5:7 KJV
