IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE

With so much converging this month of September 2022, those who are diligently watching for the Lord Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Bridegroom, are wondering if indeed the Scriptures are pointing to Rosh Hashanah, The Feast of Trumpets, as the time He will catch us away.

In 2017 I joined many others with GREAT EXPECTATION of the Rapture occurring on September 23 when the Revelation 12 Sign of the Woman was taking place. (See Unsealed’s article, The Revelation 12 Sign Compendium for more information.) It was matched with an equal amount of disappointment when HOPE was deferred, so I have tempered my expectations as speculative watch dates have come and gone. Since then I have searched the Scriptures, researched and read other Brethren’s research, and seen how God mercifully gives 7-year warnings. I believe He began His warning signs of the coming 7-year Tribulation of Jacob’s Trouble with the 2014-2015 Blood Moon Tetrad and we have watched the world go exponentially crazier with each passing day since then.

In a previous article I asked, Did God Signal a SEPTEMBER 23 Rapture? due to the fact that this September will be the 5th Anniversary of the Revelation 12 Sign of the Woman and because it is the last day of Summer. According to the Hebrew Calendar, this Great Sign occurred over Jerusalem the day after The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashana for Hebrew Year 5778 began on and ended on ).

September 23 is still, of course, a very possible Rapture date. However, I have been looking more deeply into the idioms within the Scriptures pertaining to the Rapture and asking, “Do these idioms point to the Rapture occurring around Rosh Hashanah?”

Scriptural or Traditional Idioms?

About five years ago I wrote The Rapture: Can the Time Be Known? and came to the conclusion that “the catching away or Rapture may or may not occur on Rosh HaShanah” in spite of most of the themes, names, idioms, and expressions associated with this high holy day describing the events surrounding the Catching Away of the Bride of Christ. This was because although I was very familiar with idioms I did not realize that they may have become idioms through tradition and not by way of the Scriptures. But does this matter?

If Paul used an idiom such as “twinkling of an eye” and “at the last trump” when writing about the Rapture in 1 Corinthians 15:52, does it matter whether it was a Scriptural or a Traditional Idiom? It would make sense that God via the Holy Spirit would move on Paul to use both Scriptural and Traditional Idioms since the Jewish people were familiar with both types of expression.

If so, then it is possible the apostle Paul was referring to The Feast of Trumpets for the Rapture of the Overcoming Church!

So as I dug to obtain more understanding, I came across a few gold nuggets (or as you will see, “silver” nuggets) that I just had to share with my Fellow Watchmen.

Twinkling of an Eye

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. - 1 Corinthians 15:52 KJV

When does the “twinkling” happen?

Phil Richardson explains in his article, The Twinkling of the Eye and the Final Connection with Yom Teruah, how the phrase “twinkling of an eye” is an idiom associated with the ending of the sixth and entering the seventh. Here in 2022 we are nearing the end of the Sixth Day or Sixth Millenia and entering the Sabbath Rest of the Seventh Millenia. Phil compares this to the transition from the sixth day of the week into the seventh from a Hebraic perspective:

The image above is from Torahcalendar.com/sunset and references a typical day from a Hebraic perspective. First, This concept of a 24 hour day is different from our Western mindset where the beginning of a new day begins precisely at midnight. In retrospect, the ancient Hebraic concept of a day began right after the morning twilight at sunrise and ended 12 hours later on sunset, which then began a special period time known as evening twilight where the day transitions into the night.

The precise moment of this transition is known as the twinkling of an eye or the moment when the day turns into the night. You will notice this concept on the graph above. So, if I were to use the reference of the weekly Sabbath, I would state the ending of the 6th day of Friday at sunset to the twinkling of an eye moment and into the 7th day of rest on the Saturday Sabbath. [From The Twinkling of an Eye and the Final Connection to Yom Teruah]

Phil believed our Heavenly Bridegroom would come for us at the beginning of the festival of Yom Teruah also known as the Feast of Trumpets in the year 2021; however, here in 2022 as we are nearing the end of a Shemitah Cycle how much MORE likely it is that the Catching Away of the Bride of Christ will occur at the “twinkling of an eye”!

If the Rapture occurs at the beginning of Yom Teruah, then when does the magic moment happen this year? The prophetic “twinkling of an eye” could occur as the sunsets in Israel on the 29th of Elul (September 25, 2022). Because Rosh Hashanah is a two-day festival due to the uncertainty of the sighting of the new moon, only God knows which day will be THE DAY. This is why September 26 is also a possibility for when we change “in the twinkling of an eye”.

The Last Trump

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump[salpigx]: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. - 1 Corinthians 15:52 KJV

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump[salpigx] of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV

First, we must understand that the “last trump” is NOT the 7th trumpet of Revelation. Both 1 Thessalonians and 1 Corinthians were written long before John wrote Revelation, so Paul’s readers would have no knowledge of the seven trumpets of Revelation. Paul’s writing was distinctly in reference to the Church and the closing of the Dispensation of Grace at the Rapture.

Now that we understand that, I will share how I came to the conclusion that if Yom Teruah is when the “last trump” is to be heard, it must be the beginning of The Feast of Trumpets at the same time as “the twinkling of an eye”.

Is the “last trump” the traditional last shofar blast at Rosh Hoshanah?

Or is it a signal for the congregation who are in Christ to gather?

Or is it a blast warning those left behind that the Day of the Lord has begun?

The other silver nugget I found was in the Old Testament. According to Numbers 10 it was a SILVER TRUMPET and NOT A RAM’S HORN OR SHOFAR blown during The Feast of Trumpets even though Jewish tradition dictates using a shofar at Yom Teruah. In fact, there were TWO SILVER TRUMPETS sounded:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Make thee two trumpets(חֲצֹצְרָה) of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. - Numbers 10:1-2 KJV

But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. - Numbers 10:7 KJV

Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months[חֹדֶשׁ chôdesh=new moon], ye shall blow with the trumpets(חֲצֹצְרָה) over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I [am] the LORD your God. - Numbers 10:10 KJV

Strong’s 2689H חֲצֹצְרָה

2.c. The חֲצֹצְרָה, or (sacred) clarion, was a long, straight, slender metal tube, with flaring end. . .; distinguished thus from the שׁוֺפָר which was originally a ram's horn, and probably always retained the horn-shape; the שׁוֺפָר is mentioned constantly in the earlier literature, and was used by watchmen, warriors, etc., as well as priests.

HOW INTERESTING THAT THE DIRECTIONS FOR THE BLOWING OF THESE SILVER TRUMPETS WAS GIVEN prior to the journey from Sinai to the Promised Land! In Numbers 10 we see that the priests were commanded to make a loud noise with silver trumpets on God's holy feast days and in the beginnings of your months meaning at the time of the new moon.

Silver is a metal that represents redemption. Two trumpets are significant when we consider that as the future “ingathering of the saints” occurs, there will be both “the voice of the archangel” and the “trump of God” (1 Thess. 4:16). When the dead in Christ are raised and the living saints are changed from mortality to immortality, we will be changed at the sound of the “last trump” (see 1 Cor. 15:52). Various opinions exist about the meaning of the phrase last trump. However, if there is a last trump, there must be the sounding of a first trumpet. Some suggest the first trump sound will raise the dead in Christ and the second sound will impact the living, initiating the changes predicted by the apostle Paul.

The two silver trumpets are a perfect image of the gathering together of the dead in Christ and the living at the return of Christ. The two silver trumpets were for the “calling of the assembly” and the “journeying of the camps.” The first blast called the people to gather together, and the second blast indicated movement as a group to their new destination. Could this imagery be compared to the sounding of the trumpet of God? The first raises the dead, and with the second blast we meet with them in the air.

These silver trumpets helped to bring the people together, just as the coming of Christ is called the “gathering together” (see 2 Thess. 2:1; Eph. 1:10). [From perrystone.org Bold emphasis added.]

If both Phil Richardson’s research and this theory Perry Stone has mentioned is accurate, it would flow with the timing of “the twinkling of an eye” or twilight just prior to the sighting of the new moon to mark the beginning of The Feast of Trumpets also referred to by the Jews as Yom Ha-Din or The Day of Judgment:

. . . Each morning during the 30 days of the month of Elul, the trumpet (shofar) or ram's horn is blown to warn the people to repent and return to G-d.

The message from Elul 1 to Rosh HaShanah is clear: Repent before Rosh HaShanah. Don't wait until after Rosh HaShanah, or you will find yourself in the Days of Awe. The Seven Festivals of the Messiah/Chapter 7

According to Hebraic thinking, Jacob’s Trouble, The Tribulation, is to begin on some Rosh Hashanah. Thus, the unsaved need to repent beforehand. Since Those in Christ are not subject to God’s judgment of wrath, it is not the traditional 100th shofar blast of Yom Teruah that calls Those in Christ homeward, it is “the trump of God” at the beginning of The Feast of Trumpets (IF Paul is referring to this particular feast):

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV

This is only my individual understanding, so feel free to comment if you have seen otherwise in the Scriptures.

September 26 2022 = Judgement Day| Kaduri Trumpets Prophecy| World Collapse| Asteroid Sep 26th| DART

As was mentioned earlier, Strong’s 2689H states that watchmen used a ram’s horn or shofar to give warning. Trumpets warning of impending judgment are sounded during the month of Elul, which is called The Month of Teshuvah or Repentance, with the FINAL WARNING sounded the 29th of Elul, which in this Hebrew Year of 5782 falls on September 25.

This is why September 26, 2022, is a super watch date if the Resurrection/ Rapture has not already taken place beforehand (see also Did God Signal a SEPTEMBER 23 Rapture?). Additionally, the next Hebrew year of 5783 may be The Year of the Bride and perhaps a Jubilee Year!

5783 Jubilee Year?

Both T. W. Tramm (Potential 2022 Jubilee - Were the Signs of 2015 a Seven-Year Warning?) and Mark Biltz (El Shaddai Ministries) have presented evidence that September 2022 could be the start of a Jubilee Year when the captives are freed and allowed to GO HOME:

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. - Leviticus 25:10 KJV

The King Planet

A Brother in Christ brought to my attention that Jupiter now stands brilliant and high in the night skies in the Northern Hemisphere and that God will be signaling yet again a message to those who are looking up. Jupiter will be in opposition with Earth on September 26 during The Feast of Trumpets resulting in Jupiter being the closest it's been to Earth in 70 years.

Talk about prophetic! Head on over to EarthSky’s article, Jupiter at opposition this month, closest in 70 years, and you will also see “2022’s September full moon is the Harvest Moon”. The King Planet Jupiter represents our King Jesus and the Full Moon represents the completed Bride of Christ.

Over Jerusalem on September 26, 2022, the King Planet will shine its brightest in 70 years and the fully waned Moon will have seemingly disappeared—a heavenly picture of the vanishing of the Bride of Christ as her shining King and Bridegroom comes near Earth to catch her away to Eternity!

  1. Oh wow, Lyn, I just love this! Since we are below the fold over at Rev12, I decided to comment here. As I recall Lu also talks about the trumpets being silver, not the shofars. The two trumpets could also represent Jesus and His Bride uniting as one as we gather in the air with Him. Such wonderful typology--so many possibilities. This month is literally pregnant (pun intended) with signpointers. So hoping, despite having unsaved/prodigal family members, that this is our Jubilee. I was sharing with a friend this week that if we give credence to God's working within Shemitah cycles and often using the closing of a cycle for major events, then I just don't see how we can go another 7 years before the rapture/Tribulation's beginning. As JD Farag says, the technological advancements alone preclude that! Thanks for your dedicated research and faithfulness, dear one. Let's hope we are a twinkle in Jesus' eye this month!

  6. Great article as always! I love reading what you share because it is so encouraging! I totally agree with you on what you write. The shofar is earthly, so it is for people who are not born again, and God's trumpet is heavenly because we are citizens of heaven. That's how I see it too. And everything else is so well explained. Just wow Lyn, and thank you! XX

  7. Yes, Dear Ones in the Lord, this could be it! If it is not, we will certainly be perplexed for His Word promises we will see the Day approaching:

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. - 1 Thessalonians 5:4 KJV

If it is not this Rosh Hashanah, it certainly must be soon afterwards because everything happening around us is telling us to LOOK UP! LOOK UP! LOOK UP!☁️✨

  8. Okay, I have never done this before and I’m not sure this is going to work, but I’ll try. (Very senior lady here)
Torah calendar says Rush HaShanah is 9/27-9/29 but the Chabad.org website says 9/25-9/27 which then is looking like 4 days of Rosh HaShanah this year?
How do you or the Unsealed group…..both websites I SO enjoy and follow….determine what is correct? God says in the mouths of two or three witnesses every truth shall be established…and by my count we have about 7-9 watchmen saying this Tishri 1 is huge which is so very exciting.
Your site is lovely, some of your pictures are just wonderful and comforting.

  9. Hi Bobbi! How wonderful of you to come by and leave such an encouraging Comment!
You ask a very good question. The answer is NO ONE KNOWS WITH CERTAINTY when Rosh HaShana will begin except, of course, our Heavenly Father.

In my above article I went with the Hebrew Calendar because the very prophetic 2014-2015 Blood Moons fell on Feast Days according to that calendar. Over at
Rev12daily (the sister site to Unsealed) we were discussing this very question because the Hebrew calendar is off for Rosh Hashana this year. In the above article there is a link to a moon chart for Jerusalem which indicates the NEW MOON is on September 26 so why would they begin Rosh Hashana on the 25th?

Torah Calendar has it beginning the 27th at sunset but that might be too late! So, dear Bobbi, it will be interesting to see what God will do IF indeed Feast of Trumpets is our Homecoming.
