Jesus Walked in the Temple and it was Winter

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. - John 8:12 KJV
While thinking on the Lord recently I was led to read of when he healed the man born blind from birth. As I read the account in the Book of John I saw something that I had not seen before or had forgotten.

What I realized was that the Messiah performed this miracle just prior to going into the temple during the feast of dedication.

And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. - John 10:22-23 KJV

Those of you who read my blog or are familiar with the scriptural holidays know that the feast of the dedication is also called Hanukkah or The Festival of Light (read also: Hanukkah and Jesus).

Going back one chapter to John 9 is the account I am referring to:

And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:1-5 KJV

I believe it is significant that the Lord speaks of day versus night--light versus darkness--for a couple of reasons.

First, the Messiah ministers healing to the man--born blind. A man who knew only darkness is given the gift of light. Not only does the man receive physical light, but he receives spiritual light. When questioned--or rather 'drilled' by the Pharisees:

The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and [yet] he hath opened mine eyes.
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.  If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. - John 9:30,31,33 KJV

It had been written in the Old Testament that the Messiah would fulfill many prophesies including healing the blind. It is very significant that Jesus not only healed a blind person but healed one who had been born blind--

Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. John 9:32

So prior to walking into the temple during the feast of light, THE Light of the World fulfills prophesy by performing a miracle never done before.

Because of our Messiah fulfilling all things, those who believe on Him have His Spirit residing within and are able to do the works He did and greater (John 14:12).

We dwell in a world that seems ever darkening, but we are not of this world and therefore do not dwell in the darkness! We must look through eyes of enlightenment remembering it is Christ in us--the Light of the World.

Abundant Love and Blessings to You and Yours this Season of Light!

UFO: End-Time Delusion

Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices [by the space of] forty years in the wilderness?
Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon. - Acts 7:42-43 KJV

This time of year always reminds me of when several years ago my husband and I accepted an invitation to a gathering at the home of one of our neighbors in spite of my dismay about its Halloween overtones. Their children were friends with ours, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to get to know the parents better.
Standing around the fire, my host said to me as he added additional logs to the already blazing inferno, "I want to get this bonfire as big as I can. Last year I saw UFOs hover nearby and I think the bonfire attracts them. I hope we get to see them."

To be honest, I can't remember what I said in reply for I was a bit stunned by his openness.

I had recently read a book by two born again Christians, David Lewis and Robert Shreckhise, entitled UFO: End-Time Delusion, and agreed with what they wrote. An excerpt from pages 13-14 reads:

I believe UFOs are real (provided you allow my definition of reality). I believe they are from an occult or paranormal source...My research has led me to a further conclusion, and that is that they are evil. Humanity must be warned of the malevolent intentions of the 'aliens'. That is the purpose of this book. While some contacts have been friendly and some hostile, they are all from the same source and they mean to destroy all human life on this planet...Deception is currently the 'alien's' most effective tool. We intend to unmask the delusion.

"Aliens?" some of you might ask. There is voluminous evidence that people have seen or been in contact with aliens or extraterrestrials but is that who they actually are? Here is another excerpt from their book: Without exception, every person claiming an [alien] contact...had one thing in common. Each had a prior connection to metaphysical activity or cults. Some had been in devil worship, witchcraft, psychic phenomena, New Age, channeling...Those involved in direct contact with UFO aliens already had a connection to the dark side of the supernatural world. [p. 15-16]

Thus, people who have participated in Satanic activities have opened themselves up to contact with  so-called aliens who are in reality evil spirits.

"...In 1982, Michael London of the L.A. Times gathered together a group of 8 people experienced in UFO and extraterrestrial encounters for a special screening of Steven Spielberg's movie E.T." David Bay shared on his radio show. "London noted the following reactions of the group to the movie:

`This is a true movie, not a romance. It's part of a CONDITIONING PROCESS TO PREPARE US FOR THE ARRIVAL OF ALIEN BEINGS.'

`The movie is a vehicle...It invites the audience to be less afraid of the so-called para-normal. And what better place to start than with the children?...Everything is being done through the children...'

"Everything is being done through our children, and has been for over 20 years. Thus, the first generation to be so conditioned are now having children, who are also being conditioned. What is the purpose? Remember that the Movie and TV industries are openly hostile to Christianity and are very obviously New Age. Also remember that the #1 objective of the New Age is to successfully stage the appearance of Anti-Christ." Excerpt from David Bay's The Cutting Edge Radio Show transcript (http://www.cuttingedge.org/ce1030.html):

What I wish I had said that long ago October eve as I stood by the bonfire is, "I doubt they will come tonight, because I know who they really are."

And, of course, my host would ask me who the 'aliens' are in my opinion and I would have replied,
"They are fallen angels--evil spirits--manifesting as extraterrestrials. I would rebuke them in the name of Jesus Christ and they would be forced to leave. That is why I don't think you'll see them tonight."

Although I did not say what I wanted to, in my mind that is what I was thinking and indeed we had no space visitors. May the Lord forgive me for not speaking boldly to this man.

Today, there are many sources for studying UFOs, aliens, and the such. Recently I was on-line reading testimonies of people who during an 'alien' abduction, cried out the name of Jesus and the terror immediately ended. One source of these testimonies can be found by going here: alienresistance.org/ce4testimonies

Please send a copy of this blog article to anyone that comes to your mind. It is my prayer that this deception be exposed to all who will believe so that none would be given up to worship the host of heaven (see Acts 7:42-43).

2016

Have you heard about the new movie called "2016"? http://2016themovie.com/

If you can possibly go see it--GO! It will give you the information you need to make an informed decision for this crucial upcoming Presidential election!

This movie will take you... on a gripping visual journey into the heart of the world’s most powerful office to reveal the struggle of whether one man's past will redefine America over the next four years. The film examines the question, "If Obama wins a second term, where will we be in 2016?" Across the globe and in America, people in 2008 hungered for a leader who would unite and lift us from economic turmoil and war. True to America’s ideals, they invested their hope in a new kind of president, Barack Obama. What they didn't know is that Obama is a man with a past, and in powerful ways that past defines him--who he is, how he thinks, and where he intends to take America and the world... Emotionally engaging, 2016 Obama’s America will make you confounded and cheer as you discover the mysteries and answers to your greatest aspirations and worst fears.[Excerpt from http://2016themovie.com/]
The second thing I would exhort everyone to do is, of course, PRAY! The youtube video below tells of an exciting worship and prayer event occurring right in front of the White House for 40 days before the election!

To complete my exhortation, please VOTE on Tuesday, November 6.

--Beloved--GO! PRAY! and VOTE for righteousness!

Days of Awe

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, [and] I will praise the LORD: - Psalm 118:19 KJV

At the end of July I heard the Lord speak within my spirit that these are the Days of Awe--that Heaven was open and He heard our prayers!
I have studied the Feasts of the Lord mainly by reading Edward Chumney's book, The Seven Festivals of the Messiah, and I knew that it was not quite time for the actual ten days designated as 'The Days of Awe'~~

A special season known as Teshuvah, which in Hebrew means "to return or repent," begins on the first day of the month of Elul and continues 40 days, ending with Yom Kippur. Thirty days into Teshuvah, on Tishrei 1, comes Rosh HaShanah. This begins a final ten-day period beginning on Rosh HaShanah and ending on Yom Kippur. These are known as the High Holy Days and as the Awesome Days (Yamim Nora'im, the days of awe). [Page 95 excerpt, The Seven Festivals of the Messiah by Edward Chumney http://www.hebroots.com/index.htm]

I had a knowing within myself that my Savior was encouraging me to seek Him all the more earnestly in these coming days leading up to Rosh Hashanah. I believe our Heavenly Father through His beautiful Son is extending His sceptre of gracious favor in these days to hear us. This 'hearing' is more intense now or perhaps the intensity is in getting our attention to SEEK HIM with all our heart, soul, and mind.
Recently, I have been receiving confirmation of my dreams and rhemas from a Sister in the Lord, Susan O'Marra. In her August 16 post, she shares what the Lord spoke to her regarding the days preceding Rosh Hashanah which you can read by clicking below~~

In The Image Of His Glory Ministries: A Time Of Consecration Has Come

The gates of Heaven are opened so the righteous nation may enter! (Isaiah 26:2; Psalm 118:19-20)

Healed!

My life, like so many other people's lives, is filled with the everyday humdrum. Take for example my morning exercise regime of using the treadmill. I crank up the worship music or watch an old classic movie as I tread away. Earlier this week as I climbed aboard, I flipped on the TV and caught the tail end of It's Supernatural, a show hosted by a Messianic believer named Sid Roth.

Sid had been interviewing David Herzog who was commissioned by the Lord to teach on His Glory. I felt a glorious shift in the spiritual atmosphere at one point (before Sid Roth mentioned it) and David began to call out healings along with Sid and exhorting people to jump up and down as an act of faith as they took hold of them. I turned off the treadmill as soon as healings were called out because I believed my Heavenly Father's goodness would overflow onto me.

When healing in the right rotator cuff was spoken, I jumped for joy and rotated my right arm excited for I believed in my heart He would heal scar tissue that had formed there. I continued my treadmill exercises and stretched afterwards noticing that indeed my shoulder felt better.
The next morning, as her manner is, my daughter Rachel massaged my right shoulder before sitting down to eat her breakfast.

"Check to see if there's any scar tissue back there," I asked.
"Hey! I can't find it!" she replied.
My husband Tom came over and he verified it as I told them what had happened to me the day before. We all celebrated God's continued faithfulness!

But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. - Hebrews 11:6 KJV

Let me encourage you to diligently seek Him IN YOUR HEART, SOUL, AND MIND. I pray that faith will arise in you and in me as well! Although I have seen miracles in my life and even in others who I have ministered to, I still struggle with unbelief at times. I continuously pray that He will help my unbelief as he did the father of the child in Mark--And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. - Mark 9:24 KJV

I encourage anyone who reads this to watch it here on my blog (http://lynmelvin.blogspot.com/) or look for it on youtube.com where it is entitled, "David Herzog on It's Supernatural with Sid Roth--The Glory Zone". Then please post a comment to let me know what happened.

He is faithful!

Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. - Matthew 9:29 KJV

The Coming Wave of GLORY

And he said unto the disciples...For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one [part] under heaven, shineth unto the other [part] under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day...And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Luke 17:22-27 in part

It is always a thrill and an honor to hear from Heaven. We should never take for granted what we hear or see in the secret place. I think I am writing this as a reminder to myself more than to any one who might be reading it.

I began to worship Him one morning recently, and a song from a couple of decades ago came up into my spirit so I sang it to Him. “Be glorified in the heavens! Be glorified in the earth! Be glorified in this temple!”

It is the sincere desire of my heart that the Lord of All be lifted up and that my life magnifies Him. As the time drew near that I would have to head down to the kitchen, I asked for a word of encouragement and in His graciousness this is what I believe He said:

The days of this Earth as you have known it will pass away and a great wave of My glory will wash over the world. Just as in the days of Noah, My wave will engulf the world and there will be those who will enter the ark of Jesus Christ and be saved and those who will choose not to enter and will perish.

Are you also anticipating the Wave of Glory?

My Bonnie Friend

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. - John 3:15 KJV

This past Sunday, May 27, marked Pentecost. It also was the day when my dear friend, Bonnie, fell asleep in death. She was a handmaiden of the Lord Jesus Christ who had bravely raised two sons on her own after becoming a widow and who had heroically battled cancer never taking her eyes off of the King of Glory.

Her youngest son called me that same day to inform me of the severe downturn in her health neither of us realizing just how close to the end she was. As we spoke, I remembered a time several years ago when I had linked hands with members of the little country church we fellowshipped with to intercede for a brother who was dying of a brain tumor. "The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth forever," I quoted in part from 1 Peter 1:24-25 KJV. It was the verse that came into my spirit so I spoke it out. "I believe the Spirit of the Lord is saying that although this brother’s time to rest has come, the word of God that he has spoken will not fall to the ground."

This was the first time I had ever prayed in this manner for someone who was sick. I fellowshipped with Holy Spirit-filled people who believed in healing and who never gave up on the possibility of a miracle and I had been of the same mindset. I could sense that the others I was praying with were not in agreement with what I said and continued to pray for our friend’s healing; but I believed, for the first time in my life, that the Spirit of the Lord was saying that this good brother’s fight was over. Sadly, he did go to his eternal rest only days later.

The last time I talked with Bonnie she had been flown to a city in the Midwest where a group of brethren supplied her with housing and food and a peaceful room adjacent to the sanctuary where she could be ministered to and soak in the presence of Almighty Yahweh. “I’m doing what you said, Lyn.” Her voice sounded otherworldly yet joyful and light as she told me where she was and what she was doing. Although back at her hotel room when we spoke, she was still afloat in God’s river of love, but what had I said to her? I couldn’t remember even though I had talked to her only about a week before. “Remember, you spoke to me that the Lord said I should rest—that I had been mother and father and had done enough. Rest, rest, rest, you said.”

As I shared this with her son, he told me that he had said the same thing to her—that she had done enough and that she should simply rest. “I didn’t realize then that the Lord was referring to eternal rest.” I said remembering how I was taught that when the Lord repeats something three times, it is to indicate that something is complete. Even though she was still alive as we spoke, we both believed her time of struggle was coming to an end even though we had both sought the Lord for a miracle.

Bonnie and I became friends while attending services at the same church for some years. At one point she began to attend a different fellowship. Although she moved in a different circle then, she stood by me through a terrible ordeal. I’ll never forget how she showed up at my doorstep by the leading of the Holy Spirit. She had no natural knowledge of what was going on but knew by the Spirit that I desperately needed her friendship and prayerful support.

"I wish that I had gotten to know her better," I said to my husband because we had moved to another state and Bonnie and I talked less frequently. But then I thought on how as sisters in Christ we were both born of incorruptible seed--the promise of life everlasting--and that we have an eternity to get to know one another better.
Hallelu-Yah!

Escape from Christian City

In my dream I see the lone figure of a man following a road. As the sun sets beneath the hills, a city comes into view. Nearing it, the traveler sees what appears to be a large group of churches. Spires and crosses pierce the skyline. His pace quickens. Is this his destination? He passes an imposing structure, a neon sign flashing "Cathedral of the Future". Farther on a floodlit stadium supports a billboard boasting that fifty thousand people crowd into evangelistic meetings there three nights a week. Beyond this, modest "New Testament" chapels and Hebrew Christian synagogues cluster together on the street front.

"Is this the City of God?" I hear the traveler ask a woman at the information booth in the central square.

"No, this is Christian City," she replies.

"But I thought this road led to the City of God!" he exclaims with great disappointment.

"That's what we all thought when we arrived," she answers, her tone sympathetic...[Excerpt from Escape from Christendom by Robert E. Burnell]

While reading this allegory, Escape from Christendom, I couldn't help but think about something I had said to my family a few years ago. I said, "One day the Church isn't going to look like it does now." My sister Kim asked, "What will it look like?" "I don't know," I replied, "All I know is it won't look like it does now."

I have lived in Christian City for almost 30 years but am now an escapee looking for the City of God.

This is a very lonely place to be, for a traveler to the City of God must go through a great stretch of desert wilderness. According to Mr. Burnell's dream there are four wildernesses: (1) Forgiveness (2) Worship (3) Prayer, and (4) is unnamed, but I would label it the Wilderness of Endurance.

Are you a fellow escapee from Christian City? Whether you are or not, go ahead and click on the 'comments' link and let me know what you're thinking. You can read the entire allegory by going to: http://awildernessvoice.com/Escape.html

Do We Have a 'Good Name'?

The Word of God reads~A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. - Proverbs 22:1 KJV

This scripture applies not only to individuals, but to nations.

Does our nation have a good name?

I have written about the nation of Israel in previous blogs, and today our President meets with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to primarily discuss Iran's nuclear ambitions.

In the past, President Obama has been publicly critical of Israel. [See above video--the first 5 minutes gives plenty of evidence.] This is shameful to us as a nation.

In a recent meeting with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a pro-Israel group, our President spoke supportively of Israel.

My prayer is that Obama will keep his word and that Congress will continue to be supportive of our great ally.

2012 is proving to be a historic year already. Let us pray for wisdom for our nation's leaders (I Timothy 2:1-4). And let us
pray that in the Almighty's eyes, America has a good name!

Soul Ties in the Church

When I write, I prefer to focus on writing all day. Many times before composing I take some time to worship and set my mind on Almighty Yahweh.

This morning as I worshipped, I began praying about holy connections within the Body of Christ. As I did, the Spirit of the Lord began to download something into my spirit about 'soul ties'. Although I had not planned on blogging today (I have another project on my mind), I knew I was to share this.

What is a 'soul tie'? My understanding of this phrase is that it is referring to a relationship with another person or group that is of an intimate nature. If you were to look up the exact phrase, 'soul tie', in the Bible, you will not find it. What you will find, however, are examples of holy and unholy soul ties.

David and Jonathan had a holy soul tie.
And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit [qashar--to bind, tie, bind together, league together, conspire] with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. - 1 Samuel 18:1 KJV

The Book of Ephesians shows that marriage ties two souls--they become 'one flesh'.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined [proskollaō--from kolla ("glue")] unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. - Ephesians 5:31 KJV

This union is not only through a sexual relationship, but also through vows spoken to one another. I Corinthians gives an example of an unholy soul tie via sexual union:
What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. - 1 Corinthians 6:16 KJV

So you can see that soul ties can be made in a number of ways. What hit my spirit this morning, however, was how we can actually have unholy soul ties within the Church. Because we fellowship with other believers in the Lord, we can innocently or perhaps more accurately, naively, form a union that is not Godly.  Sometimes we might have ulterior motives to connect with someone in a leadership position in the church body.

Our Heavenly Father created our physical bodies to be made up of interdependent parts or members. When even an individual cell within a part operates outside of its purpose towards another part, the brain is alerted. So it is with the Body of Christ. Just as human body parts were made to be interdependent, members in Christ's Body are to be mutually supportive of one another. BUT when an individual operates outside of how Christ the Head has ordained, they are in danger. This includes relationships we have with other members of the Body of Christ!

Do not confuse this with church leadership. What I mean is, just because your church is set up where a pastor or bishop is the overseer, does not mean he is the head of the church! Yes, an overseer has responsibilities towards the church body, but it is not to be a dictatorship.
Neither as being lords over [katakyrieuō--1) to bring under one's power, to subject one's self, to subdue, master; 2) to hold in subjection, to be master of, exercise lordship over] God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. - 1 Peter 5:3 KJV

Whenever we allow a church member--whether in leadership or not--to manipulate or control what we do or not do, this is an unholy soul tie.

It is only through an intimate relationship with the Head, Jesus our Yahshua, that we will know who we are to be in relationship with and how intimately we are to be connected, for He alone is the true lover of our souls.
Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love [chashaq--' to love, be attached to, long for']to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. - Isaiah 38:17 KJV

Genuine unity can only be accomplished through the Spirit of the Lord.
But he that is joined [kollaō--glued]
unto the Lord is one spirit. - 1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Ephesians 5:31-32 KJV

Free to Love

As I sat in the kitchen recently trying to clear my mind and pressing in to see if the Spirit of the Lord would speak to me, I heard, "Daughter, you're making life too complicated. The enemy wants your life to be complicated. Simply love Me as I love you."

When He said that, I remembered something else He had taught me years ago. Something I keep forgetting.

The Word of God instructs us in Mark 12:30 to love the Lord God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Well, you see, I had taken it upon myself to work harder on this. I would chastise myself because I didn't feel as though I loved Him enough. My Heavenly Father was gracious, though, and spoke to me one day saying, "Daughter, you are not able to love Me as much as I love you!"

What a relief! I cannot express how this freed me. It was as though another layer of manmade religion sloughed off me and I was free! Free to love Him as only I could.

Today, as I thought on His love, I came across wonderful encouragement through Anne Elmer as she shared regarding dealing with disappointment in our heart. I found it here:
Anne Elmer: "REMOVE THE STONE! Let Out the Thing that is Rotting and Beginning to Smell"

And today I pray that you will be free to love!

It's Time!

Soon after moving to the Carolinas six years ago, I began to notice when the clock read 9:11--usually in the mornings. It occurred a few times a week.

I remember commenting to one of the leaders of the church I was fellowshipping with about this. Something in the day's service must have prompted me to go up and talk with him. I said, "I believe the Spirit of the Lord is showing us the urgency of the time we are living in." I don't remember his reaction or whether he even commented on what I shared.

Since then, my 'sightings' have increased to the point that I notice 9:11 in the morning and in the evening. Now my husband is beginning to notice it!

Why? Why are we noticing when the time is 9:11?

A couple weeks ago I joined friends of mine who oversee a ministry, House of Hope, for what I thought was simply a time of worship. It turned out that it was worship along with intercession for an event that was to occur the following evening hosted by a group called Ignite Hickory.

During worship, a microphone was made available so that anyone who was led to sing or prophesy or pray, could do so. At one point, a short song rose up within me, so I went to the mic to sing as the Holy Spirit led. It helped that I had ministered before with the brother who was leading the worship that night, and he smiled with approval as I began to sing:
Hickory dickory dock
You better wind up the clock
'Cuz it's time!

I sang my few lyrics twice and then went back to where I had been standing. Others came up and prayed and I began to understand that Ignite Hickory was a group of believers who expected revival in their city. That night they were pressing in to see the hand of God move the next evening where they had organized a worship event in one of the area hotels.

Later I ambled up to the mic again and shared how I had been seeing 9:11 for years, and that night I knew the Spirit of the Lord was saying--"It's time!" Time for Amos 9:11-13:

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. - Amos 9:11-13 KJV
As I finished speaking and went to set my Bible down, a couple of the young men there shouted, "Look at the clock!" I looked up and the hour hand was on the '9' and the minute hand was on the '11'!

We all took this as confirmation of what I was led to speak. It seems to have been so long that I have waited for this time to arrive--the great move of Yahweh in the last days...

I went to that gathering at the hotel the next night. The worship was high and when anyone spoke, they remained in the crowd instead of prancing up on the stage where the worship team was ministering. It blessed my heart to see that they wanted to be 'nameless and faceless'. Designated teams were praying for people in the back of the huge room.

When a friend came up to me afterwards to ask my impression, I said, "It felt like a great plowing session in the spirit realm. I could see it was like sparks of Heaven falling on people who were getting healed and saved--sparks can cause a great fire!"

Do you, dear readers, believe 'It's time'?

Trial Duty

Shouldn't that title be 'Jury Duty'? No, but let me explain...

Like a multitude of other families, we live in an area severely affected economically. This has hit close to home now to the point where I realize we are truly going to have to walk by faith in order to continue paying for what are considered 'basic bills' here in America--water, electricity, gas, home-health-auto insurances etc. Oh, and let's not forget groceries!

This is not something entirely new to me. In the very first year of our marriage, I was forced to stop working early due to a car accident resulting in the premature birth of our first child. (I share this story and the harrowing tales of my other two pregnancies in The Mommy Manual. Click here.)

Financial help was short in supply and our own auto insurance company was trying to pin the blame for the accident on us so that they wouldn't have to pay us! (The other driver was a minor who ran the light and smashed into us at high speed totalling our car. It was a miracle Tom and I and our unborn survived.)

The thought of having to live through a time similar to that pulled me down into a dark place--a place I did not want to go. Like David in Psalms, I poured my heart out to my Heavenly Father. I was led to read in I Corinthians beginning in Chapter 9, but kept reading the next chapter. A verse that had been of great encouragement to me in the past was there like an old friend to greet me again~

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV

This verse if powerful once you better understand the word 'temptation'. It was translated from the Greek word peirasmos and means 'trial, proof'. What a promise!

No trial will come upon you that any other person hasn't already gone through. God is faithful and will not allow you to be proved beyond what you can bear and will make a way for you to come up out of the trial, so that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 LOV (Lyn's Own Version)

As I write this, I am remembering two specific things the Lord did for us that difficult year. I received a check for $200 unexpectedly from the State with a note claiming that I had overpaid my taxes. This was the exact amount we were short that month in order to pay the rent! Another incident was that we found groceries sitting outside our apartment door, although we had not told anyone of our plight.

Again, like David, I am thankful to remember how my God is faithful. He has delivered us through the fire before, so I know I can trust Him to come through for us once again.
[Note: The LOV is based on studying the words according to the Young's Analytical Concordance.]
